It’s officially the last day of 2024, and we’re looking forward to a new year filled with catering trends – new and old! From trends turned to standards such as sustainable catering to out of the box ideas, we’ve collected five catering trends that we expect to be IN for 2025. Whether it’s a taco bar or a pani puri station, the craze of street food stations isn’t going anywhere. While these stations can be elevated, a lot of times it isn’t necessary, and we would almost discourage it! These comfort foods bring out feelings of nostalgia and familiarity for guests, so making it appear too luxury may take away from the intended experience.
Having evolved past being just a trend, sustainability in virtually all areas of life continues to be a priority for many, with catering being no exception. Using locally sourced ingredients and eco-friendly packaging is the new standard for catering. Incorporating sustainable practices into our business is one thing we’ve always strived to do and will continue to set new and bigger goals in 2025!
One trend that’s grown significantly this past year and is expected to have continued growth is experiential catering. Guests are bored with classic buffets and are seeking out experiences that they can capture and share on their socials. Out with the old, in with the unique!
Following along with the stations theme, another food station we think will be on the rise this coming year are Build-Your-Own Stations. Think protein bowl stations where guests can choose their own protein, toppings, and sauce. Or a taco station with endless toppings.
People are thinking less of what’s trending and more of what personally speaks to them when it comes to event planning, including catering. Unconventional choices are often going viral now for their unique qualities. Maybe this means only serving miniatures of everything or going with a tapas theme where only appetizers are served — the sky’s the limit!
